The company either has an investor franchisee or a local franchise associate who employs a local agent in new regions. So far, Fatburger is still looking for a franchise associate in Cuba. When the appropriate partner emerges, the company will be willing and ready.

In 2006, the company opened its first international location in Canada. Since then, Fatburger has gained a reputation for operating in unexpected locations such as Iraq, Libya, and Pakistan.
