Subject: Successful organization of the event on World Environment Day, June 05, 2016
Greetings from Rejautsu Serves!
Team Rejautsu are pleased to inform you of the successful organization of the mega event on the eve of World environment Day on June 05, 2016 at Dehradun. The theme of the event was taken in line of United Nation Environment Programme (UNEP) i.e. “Join the race to make the world a better place” for the year 2016. The event has been co-organised by Hill Foundation. The knowledge partner for the event is Green Watch.
The increasing world population and decrease in per capita availability of natural resources has resulted in growing toxic waste and pollution of the natural resources i.e. Air, Water and Soil. As per the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment Study 2005, it has been observed that there has been more than 62% decline in the availability of natural resources in the last 4 decades. Sustainable management of resources has become one of the most important aspects for sustainable development to conserve the same for our next generation. The awareness on the environment, its degradation and benefits of conservation is of significant importance. The communities need to be sensitized and encouraged for the environmental conservation and optimum utilization of the available resources to achieve the sustainable development goals as per the Millennium development Goals (MDGs) by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
In order to promote the “green way of life” amongst all the stakeholders’ viz. students, teachers, policy makers etc. to enhance their commitment towards preservation of environment and sustainable management ecology and environment for achieving the targets as sent by United Nation Development Programme (UNDP) for sustainable development.
