Waterpump is officially installed

installation of the waterpump.

Repairing the old pump for the time beingThe village had a ‘Indian’ waterpump installed which was broken for 6

months. So, the people had to collect water 20 km away. We where waiting for the Blue waterpump to be installed but they where out of

stock. We finally decided to work with Davis & Shirtliff who could deliver in time and are closer by in case the pump gets broken.

WATERFinally we could get water out of the pump after a two days job of

repairing the waterpump.

The new waterpump and watertowerA small cabin was build to put the watertank of 4000 liters on top and

inside is space for generator.

The watertap for fetching the waterA tap was installed and connected to the watertank. So, people can tap

water from the watertank.

The generatorThe generator was put inside filled with approximately 15 liters of petrol.

Davis and Shirtliff installing the waterpumpOn a Thursday Davis and Shirtliff came with their truck with all the

materials for the installation of the waterpump.

The pipes for the waterpumpBefore installing the waterpump the pipes to and for the pump have to be installed. Total length of the pipes in the waterhole is approximately

32 metres.

which does a lot of hard work.

Cleaning the waterholeWhile Davis & Shirtliff where making the pump ready for installation the other people where cleaning the waterhole. So, the pump gets into an

clean area.

Installing the waterpumpAll the preparations where done and now the final installation could be

done!

Official launch of the waterpumpThe villagers where curious and very happy the pump was officially installed and

they could fetch water. This pump is sufficient enough for 600 people. Matsangoni has a population of 6000 people this means, that foundation

Pamoja Kenia needs approximately 11 more pumps. The next pump will be installed near the school. To realize this project the foundation needs a total of €

6000,-.
