Water Management Needs

• Missing integration of existing technologies;• Lack of analysis of water consumption and losses in

the Mediterranean; • Insufficient training of water practitioners;• Lack of case studies in the Mediterranean Basin.

Some Facts

• MPC can benefit from the experience developed in the EU and build similar approaches to improve their water management

• Utilities can improve their operational and financial performance by reducing leakages and improving water metering

• Utilities can increase their revenues by being able to meter consumption accurately

There are ways!• Modern ICT solutions are available offering:

• Remote sensing (even real-time)• Data collection and management• Communication and data transfer• Enhanced sensor performance in terms of energy

consumption, accuracy, false alarms, etc.• Simulation Methodologies

• optimization algorithms (linear, mixed-integer programming) and

• global optimization and modelling algorithms• Funding

• EC, National, Regional etc• Collaboration and networking Opportunities
