Evaluation Question 7Journey to success

Designing the preliminary task and the final product was completely different. When designing my final product I had to go into much more real detail and be more profesional compared to when I was designing my preliminary task. In order gain a sense of realism for my final product I had to do some research into existing profesional magazine, such as VIBE & Kerrang, whereas for the preliminary task it wasnt produced so well. When doing my prelimnary task I was struggling to use good software to design with but at the end of my final production I had a good understand of how to use InDesign very well.

When creating my preliminary task I used a mixture of Photoshop and Microsoft Powerpoint to construct my design. Powerpoint was very limited in terms of what effects and structure I cold use to construct my product. Using Microsoft Powerpoint it provided very basic tolos to use and work with therefore I couldnt be very effective and creative when designing and creating my preliminary task. Whereas when I used mainly Photoshop I found out that it had way more features that aid image manipulation which was a major asset to my front page. This software offered many more effective features that made my production look more detailed and proffessional. Using Photoshop I used the layer option to structure my magazine and organise it so it looks profesional and well-organised. The image quality in Photoshop was much better than the quality of images used for my preliminary task. This is because Photoshop can enhance the pixilation of a photo better, as this is what Photoshop specialises in. Also I used Photoshop for my final product to enhance my images, insert effects and edit the images Im using. This includes cropping out the background or any unwanted parts of the images using the cropping tool or magic selection tool. This was better then using a mixture of Photoshop and Powerpoint which was used during the creation of the preliminary task. Powerpoint is a very limited piece of software probably because it was made for text and not fot magazines.
