NSPS Subpart DD - Applicability

• Grain Terminal Elevator

• >2.5 M bushel permanent storage capacity

• Grain Storage Elevator

• >1.0 M bushel permanent storage capacity

• Constructed, modified or reconstructed after 8/3/1978


Particulate Matter (PM) Standards

NSPS Subpart DD - Requirements

• Dryers – Column & Rack

• 0% opacity

• Process Emissions

• PM < 0.01 gr/dscf & 0% opacity

• Fugitive Emissions

• Truck/rail unloading and rail loading < 5% opacity

• Grain handling 0% opacity

• Truck loading < 10% opacity

• Barge/ship loading < 20% opacity

• Enclosed unloading leg & ventilation to control device

• Air ventilated > 40 ft3/bu

• Or, approved emission control from Administrator

• Weekly visible emissions checks


Recordkeeping


• Total storage capacity for each facility (excluding temporary)

• Storage capacity of temporary facilities

• Excess emission event calculations

• Inspections/emission checks and corrective actions

• Testing results

• Type of grain processed during test
