Climate change

What is climate change?

Climate in not static but it constantly changes in response to the variation in the factors that control it. It is a physical phenomenon that’s ever changing. But the rate of change in the climate has become very fast and has started to show its ill impact on environment and us.

Effects of climatic change:

• Global warming.• Flood and drought.• Decrease in food crop production.• Threat to vegetation cover and wild life.• Famine, etc.

Measures to overcome the global threat of climate change:

Since four decades ago when US president Richard Nixon addressed climate change as a problem it has been taken as a serious matter of concern.

• 1992-Earth Summit- Rio de Janeiro.• Govt. policies and NGO participation.• Strong and planned scientific policies to check the

factors leading to the abnormal change in climate.• Social awareness.• Individual concern.etc
