ISSUES ON THE FIELD Need standarditation on classification of varietis and standard

quality of raw materials. Quality of materials only considered from rattan pole

morphology characteristics. Knowledge on rattan characteristics, limited based on the

morphology characters only. Raw material processing quality need to be improved. Product outcome need to be improved in terms of design,

innovation and quality. Limitation on study about rattan. Rattan wicker works/ crafts hard to compete in international

market. Rattan cultivation is really important. Supply and marketing chain of rattan material and product need

to be improved. Orientation of rattan product outcome only limited to furniture

and crafts.
