Is Egypt safe??

Though Egypt is safe from many natural disasters, there are still risks here. Sorry to break it to you, but we are not invincible.

Not safe!!Well as soon as you think of natural disasters you think of volcanoes or earthquakes; by the way, the last earthquake in Egypt was in 1992. But there is more to natural disasters that this.

Then what is our threat??

We are facing the “hidden” natural disasters. Some threats in Egypt are:1: Climate change2: Water shortage3: Food shortage

Climate change

In addressing climate change in Egypt there are 3 major questions:1:How and why have weather patterns changed in Egypt?2:What risks do they pose?3:What threat do diseases pose?

Have weather patterns changed in Egypt?

Yes for sure! Last week a weather report blog posted the huge change in weather; it said on Sunday was 33 degrees celsius and on thursday we were going to have rain with a temperature of 10-15 celsius.This difference in temperatureis abnormal.

Why??Well unfortunately Egypt only plays a minor role in the scope of global climate change. Egypt can only control its pollution.

What risk do they pose?

Well climate change poses a huge threat. It ruins agriculture which leads to food shortage. Its like we are marching the modern “Trail of Tears.”

Food shortage

Food requires mainly water but since climate change we cannot depend on rain; unfortunately, Egypt also has water shortages.

By building large dams and giant water filtration plants, Egypt took action to stop this catastrophic fate. However the most important water Egypt needs to preserve is drinking water.

In Egypt the water levels are decreasing. The Nile has huge drop that can be seen by the naked eye.

Diseases!!!!

Plants are like us, they can be infected by diseases. There was a disease in Egypt called Blights. It’s when a plant or tree’s leaves or branches rot and die. A plant can also have crankers, which causes the plant to wilt and die.
