Additional Housing Information Valleyfair provides employee housing. Our on-site housing holds approximately 420 employees. Housingis reserved for you once you are hired. You will have to follow directions for living in housing. Thehousing instructions will be given to you when you are hired. You will sign a housing form thatauthorizes Valleyfair to take your rent from pay.
Guidelines Must be able to clearly hear, read, comprehend and verbally explain instructions in the Englishlanguage. Criminal background checks are necessary for all employees in security, finance andhousing positions.

Resort Summary Valleyfair Family Amusement Park opened its gates 35 years ago with 20 rides and attractions on 26acres in Shakopee, Minnesota. The initial park investment was $7.5 million. The park was created andbuilt by two local businessmen whose dream it was to build an amusement park that would provideentertainment for the entire family. In August of 1974, construction of Valleyfair began. When the parkopened in 1976, it included extensive land development, rides, attractions, buildings and landscaping.High Roller--the sole roller coaster--was the main attraction. The first two years of operation weresuccessful. Wanting to capitalize on this success and continue with an accelerated expansion plan,Valleyfair’s management determined they needed additional investors. In 1978, Cedar Point inSandusky, Ohio acquired Valleyfair, under the management of Cedar Fair Limited Partnership. Theacquisition allowed Valleyfair to keep its accelerated expansion plan and also gave the park theexpertise of one of the largest amusement parks in the world. The park continues to grow every yearwith new rides and attractions. Since 1976, Valleyfair has invested over $96 million into the park. Today,Valleyfair is the largest amusement park in the upper Midwest with eight thrilling roller coasters, SoakCity Waterpark and more than 75 rides and attractions on 90 acres of land. When the park debuted in1976, there were 900 seasonal employees and 63 full-time staff. Today, there about 70 year-roundemployees. This season, about 1,600 seasonal employees will be hired. Working at Valleyfair meansbeing part of a team. You will be working along side other people from different areas and you will lots ofinteraction with guests to the park. You will walk to work daily and enjoy the employee cafeteria on yourbreaks. The Shakopee area is a suburb of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota. There are lots ofattractions in these cities and in Shakopee. You may not have 30 hours per week. Some hours of prep work willbe available during the week. In October we operate Friday nights, Saturdays and Sundays. Description
Game Operator 7.25 perhour
Responsibilities include attracting people to come play your game,enforcing game rules and handing out award prizes. You will alsohandle cash, perform some light cleaning duties and compileweekly inventories. The cleaning will be around the games area. Itcould be wiping down the games or sweeping the area in front ofthe game.

Prepare and serve food and beverages while providing good guestservice. Other responsibilities will be to operate a cash registerand perform some cleaning duties. Cleaning duties will involvecleaning the food equipment, floors, counters, and possiblyrestrooms in your food area.

Responsibilities will be to sell souvenirs, novelties and othermerchandise. You will operate a cash register, as well as preformsome cleaning and stocking of merchandise shop/displays.Cleaning will involve cleaning the store and possibly restrooms inyour area.
