Economy and Trade

Our civilization relies on our abundant supply of crops and

our water filter system. We have strong trade relations with multiple countries, and

tourist attractions so our economy isn’t in the toilet. We export large amounts of

fresh water and sea salt.

Education

Our civilization stresses absolute academic perfection,

and believes that with the right amount of care, any child

can excel. Our education system is made up of all public

schools through 12th grade. Within our civilization we have

a big college structured like BHS. In other words there are individual schools within the

campus.

Government

We are a capitalist civilization, who believes in separation of state and religion. The tax system is set up to

be as fair as possible. The bottom 5% of the people with the lowest income don’t pay taxes. The 6-50% income of the people in our civilization pay 15% tax from their yearly income. The 51-98% income of the people

pay 25% taxes. And the top richest 2% pay 50% of their yearly income.

Recreation and

Entertainment

As mentioned before, Valencia has many small

neighborhood shops. We have tourist attractions as well, which serve the general

population as well.

Environment and Wildlife Protection

Valencia has a huge wildlife reserve, and a wide range of species. People from all over the world come to see these animals. Animals also live in

the wild all over Valencia.

Housing and Food

No one goes hungry in Valencia! The wealthier

population works hard to make sure the poor have

food, shelter, and anything they might need. The crops that are grown in the center

of the civilization feed a large portion of the population.

Utilities

The entirety of Valencia has running hot and cold water,

and sewage system, electricity, and gas. We strive

towards being as green as possible, and every district has trash, recycling, and

composting. We are always looking for new ways to be as environmentally friendly as

possible.

National Defense and Public Safety

Portlandia has a very strong military, and many hidden small

military bases scattered around the civilization, for precaution. We also have a large police force committed to keeping the people safe. There is one prison on an island off the

coast, though Portlandia believes in help, not punishment. For this

reason, Portlandia does not have the death penalty.

Transportation

There are subways and bus stations scattered throughout

the civilization.

Natural Resources

We have several natural resources, including a huge

supply of water (and a cheap way to extract salt), sea salt

from the filtered water,.

Trade Relations

We ship goods (fresh water, sea salt, and crops) to countries all

over the world using environmentally friendly ships and planes. We import oil, and

clothing. The big company clothing is imported from other

places, but our civilization is mostly filled with small

neighborhood shops all over.

Healthcare

Valencia provides free healthcare for the bottom 10% of our

population, and it is relatively inexpensive for everyone else.

Drugs are grown strictly for medical purposes and

subscriptions are carefully monitored. There are many hospitals and other medical

facilities throughout the civilization.

Religion

Portlandia believes in freedom of religion. In fact,

we encourage it. Synagogues, Churches, Mosques, and more

all over.
