The Mission
Through intensive fund raising, “Urban Peace Arts” and Handicap International are urgently organizing to renovate and upgrade the facilities (play ground, kitchen, dormitory, decorated wall …) in Peace Village and bring the hospital up to the international health standards.
Our aim is to assist these unfortunate victims of Agent Orange, and bring some dignity and happiness into their lives.
Peace Village• The village was built in 1991 with the help of a German charity and its purpose was to “Relieve the pain and sorrow of the victims of war”• Since 2000 the Vietnamese government has stepped in to help fund by providing them with approximately 9.000 USD per year• Now there are 170 children based in the village and most of them are resident there, except about 20 children living nearby & travel daily• Their ages range between 2 and 18 and all have physical trouble or learning difficulties, the majority due to the effects of dioxin poison (Agent Orange)
