This historic and elegant hotel is ideally located in the city centre of Sheffield. Just half a mile from Sheffield Railway Station, Bus Stations, and the Sheffield Supertram network. For those guests travelling to the hotel by car, the hotel is easy accessible from junction 33 of the M1 Motorway and is situated at the end of its’ own private drive. The hotel has 240 car spaces on site which are complimentary to hotel residents and guests attending a conference or function here at the Holiday Inn Royal Victoria Sheffield.

About UkayPro Championship:

The UkayPro Championship is Britain’s largest unofficial Yu-Gi-Oh! tournament series, with this being the third hosting of the event. The first event was held in Manchester in July of 2009, with over 200 players coming from all over Europe to play for prizes ranging from electronics to specially commissioned playmats. After 8 rounds of intense dueling and a gruelling Top 16 playoff, Abid Arshad defeated Simon Ho to become the first ever UkayPro Champion. The event quickly gained a reputation for being “an event for the players, by the players”.

The second event was held in Sheffield in February 2010, with a new venue and an official status from Konami, UKPC was back with over 300 players showing up to play in Europe’s first National Qualifier and Britain’s largest tournament in history. Maurice Samuels hailed after a long day of duelling to take home the trophy and title of UkayPro2 Champion.

Tournament Format: Advanced Format, March 2011 Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden & Limited list applies. 7 Rounds of Swiss day 1. Rounds 8 and 9 on day 2 then top 16 cut. The COSSy tournament software system will be used for this event. Decklists are required for this event, and blank forms will be available on-site.

Registration Information:

A registration desk will be set up at the Holiday Inn for players wanting to register the day before the Event. This means bypassing all the queues on the day of the event and going directly into the play area. Registration is open between 20:00 and 22:00.

Registration is also open between the hours of 08:00 and 10:00 on the day of the event.

Online pre-registration is preferred as it will speed up the registration process on the day3.

To pre-register for the main event, please send an e-mail to [email protected] with the heading “Pre-Registration for MAIN Event”. You do not pay for event registration until you attend the event itself.

Players will be asked to provide their full name and Konami ID card4.

Further Information:The venue is also close to many food outlets in the City Centre. Food will be available on-site. The hotel has allocated two slots for players to purchase food during the event.

Vendors will be on-hand to sell product for Yu-Gi-Oh!, Huntik and World of Warcraft Trading Card Games. The specifics of this will be confirmed in a later Player Packet version.

3 Pre-registration guarantees your place at the tournament should the venue exceed capacity. It also helps the tournament organisers in making sure that there is enough support for all players expected to attend.4 If you do not have a Konami ID card you can still register, and will be given a card at the event.

By Car:The hotel has 250 Free secure car parking spaces.

From M1 Junction 33:

• Follow Sheffield Parkway to City Centre (approx 6 mi) • At Park Square Roundabout follow signs for A61 N

• Exit the Roundabout in the far right hand lane of the A61 N Barnsley.

• Follow tourism sign for the hotel

• Turn right onto Furnival Road at the first set of traffic lights (approx 300m from roundabout)

• The entrance of the hotel is immediately on the left

By Train:Sheffield Train Station is on the Midland Mainline train line and is located close to the Hotel. It is:
