The Music!A little info about the music I will be using in my

coursework

Its all about the music. As the music is one of the most important

parts to any media product. It must be thought about carefully.

I have spent quite alot of time researching different pieces of music that I could use in my coursework.

Various websites were used in this, all royalty free.

The opening. For the opening or first part of my piece. I

need something that isn’t quite dramatic/in your face but eerie.

So, why not use the music I created for my AS coursework?!

It fits perfectly, well, it does now, a little bit of tweaking and its perfecto!

Lucky, aye?

The main part. For this I need something upbeat, in your

face, loud, exiting. After hours of research, I was looking at

some of the trailers that I used for my research, when I found that the music from ‘The Final Destination’ was exactly what I wanted!

The main part. Cont.

Now, obviously I couldn’t just take the song and use it straight away. That isn’t allowed.

I had to get permission to use the song!So I researched into the song, found it was

by Shirley Walker, who unfortunately passed away. So I went for second in command; Varese Sarabande Records, Inc.

What follows is the conversation I had via email with Kevin Elliot, the vice president of Licensing and copyrights.

Permission granted! So I can use the song, great. But I cant use the whole song now can I? I must edit the

song myself to coincide with the exam boards expectations etc.

So on with that! I have put in additional sounds to match with the timing of my product. As well as incorporating other bits of music from the piece i created for last years coursework.

The final song can obviously be seen in my final piece of coursework!

To avoid any possible conflict with the record company, I have decided not to publish the original song online.
