From the media package of NME magazine I can
conclude that:
•The magazine NME has an average age of 18-24.
•It has a ratio of 69% male readers and 31% female
readers, this shows that it is mainly read by a male
audience.
•52% of NME's readers are working full time, 7% working
part time and 29% are still studying.
•Most of their readership come under A,B and C1 with a
percentage of 65% which shows that their readers will be
willing to spend money on NME as the social classes
ABC1 are usually wealthy.
•NME have a readership of 369,000 and a circulation of
40,948.
Fashion would be a good way to describe the readership
of NME as having a strong image is an important part of
the music scene. Furthermore the majority of NME
readers are young and young people always like to be
fashionable and up to date with what they are wearing.
So I could imagine that the typical NME reader would
shop in places like American
Apparel, Topshop/Topman, H&M, Cheap
Monday, Vans, Urban Outfitters, etc.
I'd assume that NME readers attend lot of gigs and live
events connected with music
(Festivals, presentations, etc..).
NME readers are
young and so are
involved with the
technology. They
may use social
networks and
electronic devices
to be connected to
the rest of the
world.
