Questionnaire Analysis
Megan Davies
IntroductionThere are several choices I have when it comes to displaying my results of the survey. I want to show my results clearly so that they can be read quickly and easily; so they don't take up even more of my time to analyse- so I have decided to use both pie and bar charts- as they are the most recognisable and also easy to understand for all ages.
Question 1
100% or 23 people questioned, answered ‘Yes’.
Do You Listen To Music?Yes No Prefer
Not To Say
Question 2
15 people answered Pop, 5 answered Rock, 2 answered 2 and 1 person answered Electronica. Other responses included; Indie, Dubstep and Alternative.

Question 3There were a huge variety of responses that came through, they are all listed on the next page.
The main genre of artists that people answered was pop and pop rock. I think this was mainly because of the people I sent the survey to. Because on my Facebook and Twitter I have fans of artists who are Pop/ Pop Rock of who I also enjoy like listening to.

7. I am a fan of a certain artist/band because they are very good-looking. True or false?
True
FALSE
Question 8The majority of people question said that they do NOT prefer music by British artists. However the comments were very interesting and helped me a lot to think clearly about the question.
Q8 Responses do idolise certain artists but don't
copy what they wear :) Andddd I don't mind whether they're british artists or not - if I like their music, I'll like them :D
I like both :)
I think British artists are less mainstream and more unique
I have answered true although it doesn't really bother me because I concentrate on their music rather than the country they were born.
To promote my country
i don't really know any other artists that are foreign.
I support anyone who I think is good.
just depends what they sound like
I support artists because their music makes me feel good.
It doesn't matter where they are
from, it just helps if they are british so seeing them live becomes a lot easier.
Because of English talent shows
As long as their music is good, it doesnt matter- however being proud of British artists who come from your local town makes you feel good inside.
If its a catchy tune and influential lyrics it becomes a memorable time in your life
doesn't matter where they are from as long as their music is good!
I like any music that is good to listen too.
Country of origin makes no difference to me.
So I can help promote British Bands, because I am from the UK
I like any music aslong as it has a good beat and meanigful lyrics.
Music is music, if good to my ears then i don't care where they come from
I like artists such as Rihanna who isn't British becuase of the quality of the music she produces. In my opinion I dont think the country which the person is from, should affect whether you prefer that music.
I don't choose artists I like based on their nationality. My choice is based on their music.
Question 9The majority of people questioned answered ‘False’ to say they are not just interested in a band/artist because they are in the top 10 charts and/or have sold out tours. The comments I received were very interesting and made me think deeply about whether the question was appropriate for the survey.
Q9 Responses My favourite band is American and
known in the UK but they're not doing anything right now, but I still love them and listen to their music. My other favourite band isn't even known well in the UK, and haven't had any songs in the charts, but I love them :)
It means they are good.
Means they are good
I find new bands/artists by getting cheap CD's from record collecting stores, but i hear about many pop artists on the radio and in the charts.
Being a fan of an artist before they make it big gives you a proud feeling that you helped them get to where they are today.
I think hearing a certain tune often on the radio, it then becomes a favourite.
i prefer to follow bands before they become famous - i lose interest a little when they get too much publicity & airplay
It helps to join in with musical conversations
Because they are normally the new/latest songs.
Question 10
This question made me think about whether the question was appropriate and would actually help me with the research of artists. After reviewing it, it will greatly help me with Star Theory by Stuart Hall.
Q10 Responses Bands that are good people and
send positive messages through their music and through their beliefs are a good thing as they influence young people the most
Yes because it will inspire more people to become the same.
Helps promote the UK
yes, i think it inspires a lot of people, including myself, if the music has meaningful lyrics, a person can find a band/artists whose songs they feel they can relate to.
There are so many bad influences
out there, young people especially need a someone to give them hope that positivity can come from the most unlikely places
Positive as in good role models, then yes. But so many 'positive role models' are just engineered by management companies, so much that it isn't actually a true representation of their real self.
Possibly, not sure.
Gives the youth of today something to look up to in a positive way.
