Facebook and Twitter are good ways to attract the target audience, as the age group (16-25) in particular use these sites.

Posters

In places such as shopping centres and cinemas, posters would be a good way of advertising the film. Especially in cinemas as people who see the poster could potentially be regular cinema visitors and more inclined to visit new releases.

Trailers - TV

During prime time on a Friday/Saturday night, a trailer would be ideal. This would address the majority of our target audience (from the feedback we received). Also, it would attract people from outside the target audience as many people watch TV on a Saturday night.

Trailers - Cinemas

Alternatively, trailers could be shown in cinemas. The best time for the trailer would be before the audience watches a different action-adventure film as this directly targets action-adventure film viewers and people who take an interest in this genre.

Trailers - Websites

Recently there has been a technological convergence with YouTube. They have started to advertise new film releases on the home page. This would be an ideal way of advertising as it would target a larger audience.

Costs

For films with a higher budget, it would be better to make trailers and advertise on TV, cinemas and websites such as YouTube. However these methods do cost a lot of money. On the other hand, you can advertise with social network pages, forums and blogs to create a viral buzz.
