Music Video

The first single from ‘Brand New Eyes’ is Ignorance.The video was first shown on August 13th, 2009, and

the single was released September 14th, 2009.

Description of the videoThe video shows Williams (Hayley, lead singer) being

singled out and ignored by the other members of the band. She shines a light bulb directly in their faces, whilst describing how they ignore her and treat her like just another stranger in the lyrics. The cramped and bare setting emphasises the inescapable, rising tensions between the band members. The video cuts between the band

performing in a cramped room, a larger performance area and Williams being laid bare in

white clothes, hair pulled back etc. The video ends with the other members of the band being able to wrap the light bulb wire around Williams, possibly

showing how the spotlight is only on her and never on the other band members.

Live shows

The first show of their US tour was played at a packed Fox Theater in Pomona, California on September 29, 2009, the day of the album's release.

The shows include a tour of the US until November 11th, then a tour of Europe ending December 18th.
