CostumeCostume can affect the theme as the

audience will make assumptions on the character from what they are wearing for example in Pirates Of The Caribbean Johnny Depp’s costume immediately gives the audience an idea of the character he is playing.

The picture shows Johnny Depp wearing tattered,

Unkempt clothing which portrays his character as

Rebellious and gives us an impression of what he

Does, the bandana and dirty clothing gives us

An image of what a pirate is conceived to look

LightingLighting is important for the scene because it illuminates and brings out the facial features of the

character in the scene. The lighting can give different tones and aspects to the

scene, for example, if you hold the light at the bottom of your face it creates shadows across the face, so this effect is commonly used when telling horror stories as it gives an eerie feel to the scene.

This particular photo of Orlando Bloom uses side lighting that gives a mysterious affect and gives him image of power. This shows that the use of different lighting can affect the impression the audience get of the character.
