OVERVIEWThe Los Menucos Project comprises three large alteration zones
aligned in a northeast-southwest direction along a major structur-
al corridor. The three areas are named, from northeast to south-
west, Cerro La Mina, Cerro Abanico, and Aguada de Guerra.
Each of these areas are bordered to the southeast by a major
highway and railroad, and each lies, respectively 5, 17, and 24
kilometers from the mining town of Los Menucos.
Most of the work to date has concentrated on the Cerro La Mina
and Cerro Abanico targets. This work includes soil and rock chip
sampling, geologic mapping, geophysical surveys (Induced
Polarization), and drilling.
Two targets have been developed at Cerro Abanico: a bulk ton-
nage gold-silver-lead-zinc target with a possible core zone of
molybdenite and the Abanico vein. The Abanico vein is a low sul-
fide epithermal vein. The best values drilled to date are 4.25 m thickness grading 6.8 g/t gold and 287 g/t sil-
ver.
The Catrin vein on the Cerro La Mina target contains 2.4 m grading 27 g/t gold and 6 m grading 11 g/t gold.
Bulk tonnage gold targets are also pres-
ent in this under-explored claim group.
