Why was the Main Task brief more difficult than the Prelim Task?

• We had to think about audiences for our main task whereas we did not for our preliminary task.

• This meant that the main task was harder as we had to take into account audience preferences, values and beliefs, audience genre response and other audience related areas.

How did your research techniques change from the preliminary task to the main task?

• For our preliminary task we had to do no research.

• However for our main task we researched much more. Our research included second hand research from the internet, first hand research from questionnaires and personal research.

• We also had to research into a multitude of areas including audiences, genre, institutions, locations and funding methods.

How did your planning techniques change from the preliminary task to the main task?• The planning we did for our preliminary task now seems

miniscule in comparison to that of the main task. • Firstly for the preliminary task we did not have a story board.

This made it harder to film as we kept forgetting what scenes we had and had not shot.

• Also our planning in to the locations for the preliminary task was poor, this resulted in us choosing a location with too much ambient sound which worsened the quality of our video.

• However for the main task our planning was a lot better. This is because we both had planned the choice of our location more thoroughly and also made a storyboard.

•The main task had no framing errors such as poorly framed shot.•The main task had better diagetic sound. This was in the form of dialogue and sound effects.•The mis en scene for our main task was vastly better, as we used better props, locations and costumes.•The editing was better. This is because the rate of cut on action was better, the use of camera shots was more varied and the cut rate was faster.

How did you make your Main Task video better than your preliminary video?
