INTRODUCTION

CWD/200 CULTURAL WORLD DANCE INSTRUCTOR: ANGELICA ISLAS

Welcome to CWD/200! My name is Angelica M. Islas and I am your dance instructor. I am a former professional dancer and studied world cultural dance at Arizona State University. I traveled to various parts of the world, including the exotic region of Brazil. In Brazil, I studied with Samba instructors whom taught me the logistics of the dance and music. I learned an individual must have the compassion for the history, feel, and meaning behind every movement of the Samba. I hope you acquire just that in this three-day workshop. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions. Enjoy the journey!
