• Gandhi believed in Satyagraha which was the term he used to believe in peace. Satyagraha had many meanings.

Getting To Know His People

• Gandhi traveled around India in order to get to know his people better. Where he found fault he found a way to fix it. He taught and inspired the people to fight for better live styles that they deserved.

Teaching New Ways

• Gandhi believed in non-violence. He wanted to improved India and their live style. Instead of using brutal means, Gandhi fasted. He would announce his starting fasting dates and would not end until the problem was fixed. Many people came to care for Gandhi and they needed him so they would fix the problem immidiately.

Salt March

• Gandhi is widely known for the salt march he organized.

• In 1930, Gandhi led a 165-mile march to the Arabian Sea on foot.

• On his way he met people in villages who joined and followed him.

• The salt march was the first major demonstration of non-violence.
