FETUS DEVELOPMENT

TRIMESTER 1!!!!
3 weeks after fertilization the outer layer forms the embryo's skin and nervous system
The inner layer forms the digestive tract and lungs
The middle forms other organs
A fluid filled sac forms to protect the embryo from physical impact
TRIMESTER 1 CONT..
Then the yolk sac membrane forms gametes
The placentas develops and surrounds the embryo
Lastly by the end of the trimester the fetus has all its organs and can move its body features
SEE!!!!
TRIMESTER 2
The fetus increases in length and weighs .5 kg
Fetus now has a face
The fetal heartbeat is now easily detected
Fetus starts to fill up much of the space in the uterus
TRIMESTER 3
Bones are fully developed
Fetus stores its own calcium and iron
Fetus descendes in the head down position
Fetus gains more weight
TRIMESTER 3 CONT.….
There is a decline in fetal movement
All organs are fully developed
In weeks 37-40 fetus should weigh about 6-10 pounds
