1.) Name of film
The name “Interrogation” links to
the thriller genre as it connotes
violence, crime and action.
This is similar to other movies such
as Se7en as seven stands for the 7
deadly sins. This links to the genre
of thriller as it suggests negative
activity or crime.
2.) Setting
Our setting links to the genre of
thriller as it is rundown and
isolated. It also looks like a place
where you can expect to find
illegal activity.
This is similar to the setting of the
movie “lock , stock and two
smoking barrels” as it is also a
rundown area.
3.) Costumes and Props
We used fake whiskey as our prop
for our opening sequence. This
links to the genre as it connotes
violence, crime and aggressive
behaviour.
In the movie “Sky Fall” there are
also alcoholic drinks.
4.) Camera Work
In one of our scenes, we used a
Point of View shot. This shot gave
the impression that you are the
one getting interrogated. This
gives the effect of fear therefore
creating tension. This is why it
relates to the genre of thriller.
In “Marathon Man” this type of
shot it also used in its Interrogation
scene.
5.) Editing
For our editing, we used a series of
fast pace cuts. This is because it
increases the tempo of our movie,
this creates tension. Therefore it
links to the genre of Thriller.
6.) Title Font
Our titles enters like a type
writer, this gives the
impression that the names
are criminals that which
are being noted. They are
also white on a black or
dark background. This is
because the contrasting
colours makes it easier to
read, and it connotes Evil
vs. good.
This can also be found in
the movie “ Se7en”
7.) Story and how it opens up
From this screen shot, it gives us a
clue from
8.) How are Characters
introduced?
We introduced our main
character by having him answer
a call from an unknown source.
This links to our genre of thriller as it
creates uncertainty and therefore
creates tension.
9.) Special effects
We used black and white for the
first half of our opening sequence.
This is because the black and
white effect creates mystery as
vision is limited also, the two
colours connotes the battle
between light and dark, Good
and Evil.
This effect is also found in the
thriller movie “Casino Royale”
