One particular social group? Genres of music that fit my magazine: Indie, Rock, Punk pop, Screamo/techno.

All of these types of music represent different social groups, that are all very similar. For my genres of music there is no such thing as just one ‘social group’. This type of music has been labelled, and something that only ‘emos’ listen to, but rock music in general has become popular with other social groups in the past couple of years. Rock has always been a popular choice of music for people, especially the older generation, that listen to old style rock.

My magazine is aimed at both genres, but aiming more towards the feminine side, as existing media products similar to mine, seem to be more male based. The people that would read my magazine are fans of:youmeatsix,:a day to remember,:bring me the horizon, :asking Alexandria, :deaf Havana. None of these bands are big in the music industry that is all based around ‘the top 40’ or ‘popular music’, but are very popular in the genre of rock. The magazine is very modern, and doesn’t talk about the likes of old bands, such as Aerosmith and Nirvana, which are two of the best known bands in rock, but stereotyping the more older generation.

Clothing representing a different type of music genre, which is common for people in this genre to wear.

Bold coloured background = bold music = rock.

Long hair, which is a stereo type view of this genre.

A young person on the cover is a connotation that this magazine isn't for the older generation.
