This image is a great example of my constructed pages.I got an image from the Internet of a bank room shape and I colored it in and added a door to make it into the living room. I then added images of two chairs that could be used for mummy bear and daddy bears chair as I wasn’t able to get them in a picture and rotoscoped them adding texture effects to make them different to original image of them. I them added the image from what I took on my camera of the cut out section that I wanted to include. I did this because I liked the look of the cartoon background but the real life of the characters.

Not every image was done this way.

This image was found on the Internet. I colour ranged the image for times and layered it over each one thus making it look like this. Again my image of my character is real life and just rotoscope cut out from the photograph.

This image is the only page that kept its original background but I used 2 different blocked colours in which to make the sky and the grass to keep in contrasted with the other pages.

On each pages the text says what’s going on in the page, this is done with this story because it’s made for children and it’s easier for them to understand what’s going on if there’s an illustration showing what’s going on. It’s the text that gives the image context.

Here an example of a children’s book using illustrations to help guide the children from the text, as the image is showing what the text is saying. The image is there to show two characters having a conversation but the text is there to show meaning as this could be changed but the image could stay the same and this is what is difference between my relationship with my text and images. Here again the text gives the image context because the image could look like the two characters are best friends but after reading the text it tells us the fox likes the look of the mouse for his dinner. The gruffaloJulia Donaldson March 23 1999.

The reason why i believe they used bears for this story is because they show motherhood and bravery which is shown throughout the story. Bears are powerful peaceful creators that are found in the woods (brown bears which are the type of bears used in this story) which this story is set in the wood making these animals a perfect match.

THE STORY.The moral reasoning of the story is between self concern/preservation and transgressive social rule breaking, shown through how you actions might hurt others with the concept of trespassing or breaking and entering.

The main role is a human character, she is a little girl with blonde curly hair. She is used to show innocence as she's only a cute little girl that the audience/readers will instantly like no matter what she does.

Family:The story uses a family of bears instead of just the one because the readers can reflect/relate to the bears on their togetherness and differences between each one of them. Most readers will have a family making it easy for them to relate to the characters.

The bears represent a stereo typical family with the use of the larger female and male with a child which in this story baby bear is a girl but in others the baby is a boy. They show middle class with just an average house which is shown in the images. The representation of the family is shown in the text calling them mummy, daddy and baby bear as well as them being stood/interacting together like a family. The also show different ages through size name and what they are wearing (baby bear holding a teddy shows that she is a child).

Goldilocks represents a stereo typical little girl.

Historical and cultural contextThe story of goldilocks and the three bears is very simple in a way it can be set in any era as it uses basics that have been used for 100’s of years. Such as a small wooden house, a bed, bowl, chair and the location in the woods. The story consists of a little innocent girl playing in the woods being inquisitive, this is something that wouldn't happen in this current day but would of been seen as ok 100 years ago, as it was normal to see young kids to go round the streets on their own.Goldilocks and the three bears is based in Britain, bears don’t exist in the British woods anymore meaning it cant be related as a story in England in the 21st century.
