Dandiya Mahotsav to dazzle Jaipur during JSF'14 A two-day Dandiya Mahotsav, organized by Jaipur Shopping festival (JSF), is all set to kick off on September 27 and 28, 2014 at East Lawn EP. JSF is the biggest shopping festival of India, which has been organized every year during Diwali Festive season by Rajasthan Patrika group to promote Jaipur as a brand. The traditional folk dance of Vrindavan and Gujrat, Dandiya Raas or Raas, has come from Vrindavan performed depicting scenes of Holi, and 'Lila' of Radha and Krishna. Along with Garba, it is the featured dance of Navratri evenings in Jaipur and other parts of the country. Dandiya is very popular amongst the modern generation who choose to stay with the tradition, while adding the popular beats of their genre of music. During this event, the venue is beautifully decorated and all the participants and public are dressed in traditional attire which is the main attraction of the event. This year prior to Dandiya Mahotsav, the JSF is initiating 15 days training classes from experts of Gujarat, who will train the participants and will explain the steps of Dandiya dance. It is expected that more than 50,000 people will take part in this event including celebrities. Also, the heart throbbing music and light will force the audience to perform and enjoy the festive mood of Navratri, which symbolizes the victory of good over evil. The event venue will also have mega food zone, and there will be a separate dancing area for trainees and public. It is a ticketed event which witnessed over 7,000 registrations last year.
