{Cover Page
Final Production
I began my cover page by removing the background of my main image so that it is ready to add onto my background when I have created it. I did this by using the pen tool to outline the subject and then deleting the background so it goes white. I then used the magic wand tool to remove the white background making it clear.
I then created my background on a second A4 document. I created this by using the shape tool to draw a black square in the background. I then imported my image of 'concrete' and adjusted the colour to black and white using the image adjustments. After that I changed the format from normal to linear light to give a more interesting effect.
I then created my skyline and banner by using the shape tool to create a grey square. I added text and spacers by using the text and shapes tool. I also created the bar-code by downloading a font and making it white so that it stands out against the black background (also created by using a shape tool).
I next created my mast head by using the text tool and also created a small box (with the shape tool) to hold the issue month and year alongside the mast head. I also added the magazine slogan by using the text tool and changing the font and colour using the font task bar.
I then moved my cover star image from the blank document onto my photoshoped background. I did this by dragging the image across the two tab bars at the top of the screen. I then added a outer glow to the image by double clicking on the layer in the task bar. I also added the cover story title in front of the image and added another drop shadow to this. I did this by using the text tool and double clicking in the task bar.
I then used the text tool again to created all the cover lines. I adjusted the font and colour using the task bar and changed the letters from lower case to capitals to show buzz words for more emphasis.
The final stage of creating the cover page for my magazine was to add two puffs using the shape tool and changing the colour to blue (which matches the colour scheme) I then used the text tool and changed the colour to black to that it contrasts with the blue and rotated it using the transform controls.
