Mise-en-scene

• The props used would be weapons, which would connote violence, which is a popular theme in a horror movie.

• Costume would be darker colours and some white dresses, which connotes a ghost fear. Ripped or dirty clothing would be conventional as it shows the violence.

• Lighting would be low key to create mystery• Setting would be old, big family houses, and

remote places with nobody else around.

Editing

• Fast pace when a lot is happening to create panic

• Slow pace to build up to something big and create suspense.

• Ellipsis of time would show that a lot is happening and helps to create a sense of realism

Camerawork

• The use of handheld camera to create a sense of realism

• Close ups to show the panic in the facial expressions of characters

• Establishing shots to show the setting and set the scene.

Sound

• Diegetic would be screams, smashes and gun shots which create a sense of fear and show the violence in the movie.

• Non diegitic would be fast pace to build suspense

Form

• Low key lighting• Suspense music• Darker clothing• Fast pace editing
