In 2010 about 43 million children under five were
overweight.In developing countries are living about 35 million overweight children
whereas in developed countries this figure is 8 million.
Since 1980, obesity has more than doubled worldwide.
65% of the world population lives in countries where overweight and obesity claim more lives of people than underweight.
Every year at least 2.8 million adults as a result of being overweight or obese.
In short, a high BMI is an important risk factor for noncommunicable diseases also musculoskeletal disorders and cardiovascular disease.
Obesity can be prevented bringing healthy eating habits and adequate physical activity.
If from a young educated by these values , and by example, we will all be healthier.

The latest survey in Spain was conducted during 2012. The survey found that:
9.5 percent of girls (aged 8-17) were obese. 20 percent of girls (aged 8-17) were overweight. 7.7 percent of boys (aged 8-17) were obese. 24.6 percent of boys (aged 8-17) were overweight.
