Behind the Scenes(sound)
The sound in film can play a narrative or direct storytelling
role or a subliminal narrative role, inviting our willing
suspension of disbelief.
It can be manipulated to produce emotional involvement in
the material.
It makes the emotions and feelings, can creates suspense.
Even silence in films is sound. In a film just the atmosphere
can create drama.
This video shows what happens behind the scenes (sound)
of a big movie, in this case ‘Australia’.
It shows how much effort and work it costs to produce just
the sound, but shouldn’t call it ‘just’ the sound.
Most of the important people who are responsible for sound
are introduced.

When I watched the film I noticed how important the role of sound is and what a difference it can make. So my conclusion out of watching this video is that we should consider the usage of sound more importantly in our film.
We should record more background sounds and other diegetic sounds, like footsteps. We probably could set up a Foley Session (view next slide).
Foley is the reproduction of everyday sound effects which
are added in post-production to enhance the quality of
audio for films, television, video, video games and radio.
These reproduced sounds can be anything from the
swishing of clothing and footsteps to squeaky doors and
breaking glass. The best Foley art is so well integrated into
the film that is goes unnoticed by the audience.
