GUM

If you go to Russia you must visit GUM in Moscow — one of the largest and most famous shopping centres in Russia. It is on Red Square. It is 120 years old. It has got three floors, three galleries, and a deep basement.  

The building is beautiful. Its glass roof is unique. It is a project of architect Alexander Pomerantsev and engineer Vladimir Shukhov. Its length is nearly 3 kilometres.  

There is a pretty fountain on the ground floor, in the middle of the shop. There are more than 150 shops. You can buy everything there. Around 30,000 people visit GUM every day.
