SilverSeal could replace in the future all conventional waterproofingmethods used in civil engineering, such as bituminous materials, coatings and all kinds of synthetic foils.
The self healing properties of the swelling, hydrophilic polyacrylates secure the integrity of the system in the case that the regular membrane is damaged during installation. Penetrating water causes the polyacrylates to swell and makes the whole system impermeable. The building structure is permanently protected against penetrating water, even small cracks and voids in the concrete are sealed.
