What is “Visible Light Communication” ?

The visible light communication (VLC) refers to

the communication technology which utilizes the

visible light source as a signal transmitter, the air as

a transmission medium, and the appropriate

photodiode as a signal receiving component.

DrawbacksThe specific ports should be perfectly configured. LED and PD should be in the same line of sight.Distance between the transmitter and receiver should be small due lack of quality of LED and Photodiode.There should be no obstacle between the line of transmitter and receiver.

Conclusion The effectiveness of location-based services

is explained for visible light communication by showing some examples .

VLC can create a revolution in the area of consumer networking because of efficiency and affordability. It is expected that visible light communication will be widely used as LED light market expands worldwide.
