CONTENTS
A wire is a single, usually cylindrical, flexible strand or rod of metal.
Wires are used to bear mechanical loads or electricity and
telecommunications.
As per the rise in technology today we have several kinds of wires,
like -
Copper Wire
Co-axial Cable
Optical fiber cable
Twisted pair cable

INTRODUCTION

Breaking of wires due to human activities or natural calamity.
Every year several people dies due to electric shock or poor insulation.
Short circuiting of open wires generally leads to fire or damage of the
electrical instruments.
Many sort of problems do arises when Aluminum and Copper wires
are joined incorrectly.
Heavy Voltage drop in the flow of current which results in equipment
damage.
High Energy Wastage and decrease in efficiency .
Such connections heats up and contributes to fire at large ampere
load.

PROBLEMS IN PRESENT
TECHNOLOGY

S.E.T.E.C. wire is the conceptual model of a more elastic, more
conductive & more secure wire .
It is created using elastic polymers that structured like a hollow
cylinder of desired diameter and filled with conductive liquid that
have the capability to provide a better conductive path for the
movement of electrons.
It uses different concepts of Electronics like Resistance, Capacitance,
Inductance, Electronegativity, Voltage difference, thermo couples etc.

SUPER ELASTIC THERMO
ELECTROLYTIC CONDUCTIVE
WIRE

Fig 2: Super elastic thermo electrolytic conductive wire
Our Approach for creating the wire is as follows:
The wires should be constructed using an elastic polymer (PLL-
insulated with polyvinyl chloride).
i.e. Biodegradable Elastic polymers( Eg.Biopol).
It should be thin, hollow, cylindrical and filled with conductive
liquid.
The current flows in the form of free ions, its movement is
observed when a high potential is applied across the inert
electrodes placed on both the ends.
The high potential could be obtained using a step-up transfer
connected with the bridge rectifier or a diode on input side.

SCIENCE BEHIND THE PROJECT
(WORKING)
This setup is done since these wires only work with DC supply.
After a certain time interval, changing the direction of current
releases the metal ions back to the liquid.
We can also use crystalline polymer electrolyte. The doping
strategies enhances the conductivity.(E.g. Adding of graphite or
XeF4 etc)
Flow of free ions could be brought by using Electrolytic
Resistances, inductor and Capacitor.

ELECTROLYTIC RESISTANCE-
Resistance is controlled by controlling the voltage across the
electronegative and electropositive plates inserted in the middle of the
system.

ELECTROLYTIC CAPACITORS-
Both The electro plates are connected to the potential source and filled
with the conductive liquid.

ELECTROLYTIC INDICTOR-
Current is controlled by the electronegativity difference.
SOLUBILITY- The extends up to which any high dielectric constant medium breaks into ions.
IONS- Charged particles.
CAPACITOR-A part of electronic circuit which stores the current in form of charge.
INDUCTOR-It controls the flow of current .
BRIDGE RECTIFIER-It converts AC current to DC current.
ELECTRONEGATIVITY-The tendency of atom to attract electrons to itself.

Due to the use of elastic polymer, the problem of cuts and breaking
could be solved.
Avoid the problem of short circuit and damage of electrical
instruments.
This setup could be easily implemented in small scale.
The use of biodegradable elastic polymer is ecofriendly (unlike rubber
used in it’s coating).
Electrolysis of the conductive liquid produces Hydrogen gas on
cathode and this gas is said to be the fuel of the future.
Theft of Electricity will reduce.

CHANGE IN SOCIETY AFTER
IT’S USE
Such sort of wires could not used in an AC voltage source.
Biodegradable polymers are costly.
The Conductive liquid should be such that which does not changes its
chemical properties when high potential is applied.
Not Easy to connect more wires of the same kind because we have no
splicing methods for this as we have in Optical fibers.

LIMITATIONS
Research Questions-
Is there any wire which have a better elastic nature without
effecting the conductivity through it ?
What polymer we can use to make it ?
What conductive liquid is most suitable for our project ?
How shall we tackle the liquid dropping problem if any wire
cutting problem happens ?
This wires works only with DC supply, How we can use it with
AC supply?

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Recently the project is in conceptual form, but we are trying our best
to convert this concept into a real cable.
We are also trying to contact to the Industry people for better
assistance and practical support.

CURRENT STATUS OF WORK
Plasma or any such substance is to be mixed with conductive
liquid such that when it comes in contact to air, it should besolidified.
The Concept of electrolytic Capacitor and Inductor should needto be improved.
Hydrogen gas produced at cathode could be stored so that weshall use it as an energy source.
It provide a way to make an ultra Capacitor which has an highcapacity to store free charges and could be made to use whenas we needs.
Controlling the flow of free ions (as we are currentlyimplementing with electrons) will help to nourish a new branchof applied chemistry which has its direct link with the electricalsystem.

FUTURE ASPECTS
S.E.T.E.C. wire surely be beneficial for society and it will make the
electrical work more secure and reduce the accidents happening related to
Electrical shocks, fire catching etc. It’s going to be a profitable change in
wire manufacturing technology too.
