Sona SPEED (Sona Special Power Electronics & Electric Drives) a unit of Sona College of Technology (an academic institution) is a R&D division in the area of Special Electrical Machine. We are specialized and have vast experience in design, development and realization of space grade special motors such as low & high power BLDC motors, permanent magnet & hybrid stepping motors and Limited angle torque motors. We also developed space component demo models such as Reaction wheel, Rate gyro and gyroscope active models delivered to Space Museums. Being in an academic institution, Sona SPEED has highly equipped test facilities and vast experienced ISRO scientist as centre head with self driven research scholars as team members. • Slotless Brushless DC Motor realized by Sona SPEED is in the MADRAS Mechanism of Meghatropiques spacecraft launched by ISRO on October 2011.

Development of C25 quadruplex winding redundancy BLDC motor, VSSC, TVPM.7. Refurbishment of 7.5KW BLDC motor , NIOT, Chennai.
