OEM Original Equipment Manufacturing
DFM (design for manufacture) helps to identify potential problems and customer concerns before moving into production by proactively designing products to: 1. Optimize all manufacturing functions: fabrication, assembly, testing, procurement, shipping and delivery. 2. Assure the best cost, quality, reliability, regulatory compliance, safety, time-to-market, and customer satisfaction. Our mass production team is constantly working to improve yields, minimize waste, and cut out unnecessary cost. We thrive for optimization through innovative production set up of mass manufacturing.

DESIGN ENGINEERING
Industrial design and product engineering services are viewed at Tutamen as a visibly co–dependent and highly integrated phase of the product development process. Design engineering encompasses overall concept development, creative design and product engineering relative to ergonomics, product architecture, design for manufacturing and product cost. The goal is to develop innovative solutions based on the development of sound design criteria.
9/29/2015
Our team excels at designing from the “ ground up” and having experience of developing and optimizing clients products that have secured world wide patents. The concept design stage of any project is most important; it sets the agenda and delivers “the vision”. We work closely with our customers to turn broad ideas into tangible, affordable production solutions. Our team has the experience and skills to help you at any stage from concept design, tooling design to production design.

ENGINEERING
Our scope of engineering includes part/assembly design, detailing, quoting, and analysis for manufacturability. Through collaboration with customers, Tutamen engineers determine the most efficient means of manufacture while maintaining required tolerance and constantly push toward optimization. Plastics: Plastic engineers will design and review tool drawings and flow diagrams before the are approved to be made. Once the tooling is complete an engineer will work with the production department to create standard operating procedures and optimization of the process.

Metal: Our metal engineers work to design and optimize tool paths and process for Tutamen CNC department. The will also review and approve metal stamping and Die Cast tooling. Automation and Finishing: Our automation and finishing engineers work to minimize, as much as possible, human contact with the products with the goal of maximizing yield. This includes creating fixtures for mass production, experimenting with different finishing techniques ( sandblast, laser etch, polishing, PVD, anodize, plating etc.).

GUARANTEED SATISFACTION
Tutamen uses a horizontal management style where a complete and comprehensive review of all engineering, related specifications, materials and required processes as defined by the customer are fully understood and executed. To insure customer satisfaction all products we make have both Standard Operating Procedure (how we make the part), and Standard Inspection Procedure (how we inspect the part) developed with the customer.

QUALITY CONTROL
Tutamen’s quality standards have allowed our assembly and finishing cells to work with high level clients that expect nothing but perfection. With strict process control measures we are able to fine-tune our component operation to ensure high yields and low cost. Our employees are trained to not only find flaws or defects on the QC line but to also work closely with engineers and operators to solve any issues at the source. Tutamen has high standard clean rooms, which allow us to export market ready product. By minimizing human contact and implementing rigorous cleaning standards shipped goods can exceed quality expectations.

QC PROCESS
Everything produced in Tutamen factories must pass strict Quality Control guidelines before it is released for shipping. There are four stages of our QC process which work in unison to detect any issues as soon as they might appear. In-House Quality Process: • In-line QC: Operators are trained to inspect ever piece as soon as it come off the machine. First they do a cosmetic check followed by a dimensional check for any critical dimensions, if necessary. • Cleaning / QC / Packaging: Once the part is finished production and any other finishing process it goes to final QC / packaging. Here it is cleaned and inspected, all critical dimensions and cosmetic standards are checked.
9/29/2015
9/29/2015
• Outgoing QC: QC personnel pick a percent of random samples from the shipment (may change depending on quantity, yield, or during a ramp) to do a thorough cosmetic and dimensional inspection. • Data collection / CPK: During all ongoing production projects our QC office does daily CPK (process capability index) for all mass production parts. Tutamen has in-house capability to set or follow automatic CMM programs.
