Qualifying periods

The latest result for each unit is shown overleaf. If a higher mark was achieved at an earlier sitting, this result is also shown and

indicated in the ‘High mark’ column. A Pass must be obtained in all four units within a five -year period in order to achieve this qualification. If you

have reached the end of your enrolment period but still wish to complete outstanding units, you may apply for a single one year enrolment

extension. Please contact your accredited course provider directly to discuss your eligibility for an enrolment extension.

Special consideration

If you or your accredited course provider has submitted a request for special consideration and this has been acknowledged by NEBOSH,

then this will have been considered prior to your result being confirmed. Full details of our ‘Policy and procedures for access arrangements,

reasonable adjustments and special consideration policy’ can be found in the ‘About NEBOSH’ section of our website www.nebosh.org.uk.

If you have achieved a pass in one or more units

Please accept our congratulations on your achievement. Unit certificate(s) will be issued for each successful unit declared on this unit result

notification letter. If you have passed all of the required units for this qualification your qualification parchment will also be printed and

despatched with your unit certificate(s).

All unit certificates and the qualification parchment are issued and despatched within 40 working days of the original result notification date

(please refer to your examination entry confirmation document). If your assessment was held outside of the UK your documents will be

despatched directly to your course provider.

How your name will be printed on your unit certificate(s) and/or qualification parchment

over two or more lines. Your full legal name must be used for this documentation .

If your name is shown incorrectly you must advise NEBOSH, in writing, within 10 working days of this letter. Supporting photographic

identification will be required in order for NEBOSH to make any amendments.

Please refer to our ‘Policy regarding candidate certificates including corrections and reissues’, available in the ‘About NEBOSH’ section of our

website www.nebosh.org.uk for further information.

How your overall grade is calculated

Once you have achieved a ‘Pass’ in all four units the aggregate mark of the four units is used to determine the qualification grade , according to

the following criteria (grading criteria does not apply to individual units):

Distinction 280 marks or more Credit 240 - 279 marks Pass 185 - 239 marks

If you would like to improve your grade

If you have successfully completed all four units for this qualification and wish to re-sit a successful unit for the purpose of improving a grade

you must inform NEBOSH, no later than 20 working days from the date of this letter. Notification can be accepted by e-mail or post, please refer

to our contact details below.

If you have received a refer result for one or more unit(s)

If you have received a refer result you have not achieved the pass standard of 45% for each question paper assessment and/or 50% for the

assignment. To allow you to complete your overall qualification you will need to make arrangements to re -sit the assessment(s) that you have

been referred in. Re-sits can be arranged by contacting your accredited NEBOSH course provider to discuss the next available assessment

date and/or submission date.

If your result does not meet with your reasonable expectations

NEBOSH does support the rights of students and/or accredited NEBOSH course providers to request a clerical check or re-mark of an

assessment. To request this service please refer to our ‘Enquiries about Results (EARs) policy and procedure’, available to download from the

‘About NEBOSH’ section of our website www.nebosh.org.uk.

All requests must be received, with full payment, within 20 working days of the results notification date (please refer to your examination entry

confirmation). Requests received after this date cannot be processed.

Please note: This service does not provide feedback on performance and by requesting this service there is no guarantee that a mark will be

adjusted upwards after a re-mark. It is also important to note that a mark (and grade) may also be adjusted downwards following an EAR.

NEBOSH does recommend that you discuss your results with your tutor prior to submitting an enquiry about result.
