About the presentation

This tutorial contains procedure to make DT reports. Our special focus will be on “SSV” type of reports. As Network testing is of different type’s i.e Single site test, Static test, walking test, Drive test. Drive test is conducting test of all sectors of site for coverage, test of a routes or patch and cluster etc. Basically logs analysis and post processing is same for all tests but reports format are different because it contains the methodology as per customer demand. Tools requirement for Reports making TEMS software, MapInfo software, Google earth, Snagit for taking snap shot, MS office. Data requirement for reports making Log files of DT/SSV done------will provide by DT team, Audit sheet ----will provide by DT team, Engineer Parameters sheet (it contains Site configuration data) -----will provide by Optimization team. Exports of DT logs, Report sample /format. Steps for making Report 1)-Collect Audit data and EP sheet. 2)-Make exports from log files. Exports of Idle mode will generate on MS1 and dedicated mode on MS2 Parameters are below (Exports of parameters will process as per format of report or customer requirement).

3)-Make DT Plots (snaps) from exports and paste in report format. 4)- For KPIs make report Generator The following are KPIs

Procedure for these above steps Step for making Exports :

Please open TEMS ( here I used 15.2.2)

click…,………...

Workspace opened now click the encircled

Below window occurs. Click in circled

Now added logs the below windows opened


By clicking “setup” the below window opens (select “GSM” in Available IEs)

Now select Parameters by dragging from left to right. Rx level full, cell id will keep on MS1 and all

others (Rx lev sub,Rx Quality,SQI, Cell ID etc ) on MS2 from Edit comd..Click ok to start process.

Note: Here I showed extracting exports combined but individual parameter export is good method

because of less chance of error.


Note: Exports will generate in that folder where logs were imported.

Example: Green tagged is folder name, Black tagged is logs , red is exports folder inside logs folder.

Step for Appending audit data an example mentioned below

The data will append from EP sheet and Audit sheet provided by concerns.

Step for Procedure to make Plots

Note: First male Tab file as below

Open Map-info software I used version 11.0

Start—programs---map info----it is opened as below


Click cancel and then click File comd..

The following windows opened now click the circled icons


After clicking the circled above icons now this window appears do as shown in circles.

Note: cell file or excel sheet must contains columns of Site ID, Cell ID, Coordinates, Azimuth, beam width.


These following changes occurred-----click “OK”


Next windows is

Click Tools and then tools manager and Add Site See Tool as per below snaps.

Note: by site See we can make Tab file i.e Fans shapes of sites


Write “siteSee” in title then Click the circled icon

Add “site see” tool where placed in laptop and you can add other tool like same way used for site

see.

Now click open and see next window

Click double tick mark and then press “ok”, hence you added site see tool.

Now click the Table comnd… on top bar as shown


After “table” click “Wifi sitesee” and the click “create boundaries”

Next window appears and keep changes as per below snap

Click “OK” and wait till the process end. A “tab file” created so rename it and save on desktop in a

folder like below


Four or five files will generate then click the file shape shown as encircled. The following fans made.

Now make colors and label the cells by clicking the circled option

Make cosmetics, colors and labels from the encircled options. Now clk “ok” and see the following

win will appears.


For labels i.e “CI”

Now Fans i.e “Tab file” is ready see below

Step for Procedure to Make Plots

For making Plots I will now import the exports of all parameters one by one to MapInfo workspace

See the snaps to get idea easily…click “File” then—“open”—

Next task is to select options in next windows as I encircled


All exports are showing in the folder by I picked only Rx Quality for example and click open to import

it.

The DT route in form of export is now imported into MapInfo workspace. Now I will do the following

steps to make a plot

a) Set the size of route and some cosmetics changes by clicking the circle as shown below


By clicking tick mark and star then shows like below

Keep the change as show encircled in snap and click Ok.So you will find a fine shape of route.


Hence it is a DT route map…now I will make plot of each parameter by clicking “F9” key of

key board.

The encircled options will use….its process is below

From Ranges we create plots of RX Level Sub, Rx Level Full, Quality, SQI etc

From Individual we create Plots of Cell ID, BCCH, and Events like Handovers.

To save time I will make plot only of Rx Quality same procedure is for all remaining

parameters.

Keep the encircled options and click “next”. Now see the new window….and see the

encircled option for its purpose.


Ranges: to set ranges click the option

Keep the options as shown above and click “recalc” and then click “Ok” and your ranges are

set now.

Legends: To set legends click the option “Legends” then erase the encircled text and keep

the options as shown. Now click OK then legend is ready.


The tick mark will remove from option “all other”

Styles: Click the styles button and apply the steps as shown digit wise in snap.

After clicking “ok” your styles are ready.

After clicking “All attributes” click the circle type dot below the styles and follow the

procedure for other dots also as shown in below snap


Click “OK” and hence your styles are also ready.

The following Snap shows that Plot for “RX Quality Sub” has made.

This is RX quality Plot.

Same process you can apply to make other parameters Plots.


Procedure for Making Report Generator

Report generator is use to make KPIs (KPIs are shown above) and Graphs of parameters like

RX Level Full (dbm), Rx Level Sub (dbm), RX Quality Sb).

Procedure is click “Logfile” and then report generator in TEMS as shown below

As per digits in snap below do work

Add is use to add logs of DT folder.

Properties are used to select Parameters and KPIS and then MS type.

Digit 3 used to save the report.

Example: Rx lev full


By click GSM

Then click events


Now click “mobiles” to select MS type

After setting of “IE, Mobiles end events” then click ok and then click finish. Now wait for

while then your report is ready. Same procedure will apply for RX Lev Sub and Quality.

Check the report there where you saved.

Like show below in snap the above are KPIs and below are graphs of parameters.
