COMPOSITION OF ENGINEERED

WOOD FLOORING

Engineered wood flooring is manufactured using a top layer

of real hardwood with either a three ply or multi-ply base.

This can comprise of plywood, softwood, or even an HDF

board, and the top veneer of hardwood typically ranging

from between 3-4mm in thickness.

LONG AND WIDE PLANKS

Engineered wood panels are wider and longer than solid

planks. For example, plank width is not limited as it can be

with solid hardwood. They can also be nailed over joists

without any plywood sub-flooring. These types of panel are

ideal for areas where solid wood flooring is not suitable, such

as over concrete or in basements.
