Mr. A. L. Naidu, Assistant Professor, GMR IT, Dept of Mech
Energy management includes planning and operation of energy production and energy consumption units.
Objectives are resource conservation, climate protection and cost savings, while the users have permanent access to the energy they need.
It is connected closely to environmental management, production management, logistics and other established business functions.

Manufacturing Industry energy management Any type of company responsible for the
manufacturing of any type of product (hardware or software) consumes a large portion of total world energy.
Energy management works under the following guideline:
I. Plan - data acquisition, processing and documentation, energy target and objective, energy management and action plan
II. Do - resources ,raising awareness and training ,communication, documentation, operation control
III. Check - monitoring document, corrective and preventive action, planning and record, internal audit
IV. Act- management review

Energy Management in the Process Industries
The cost of energy has risen dramatically in recent years, and the effect on operating costs and profits is keenly felt across all industries. The process industry is no different. The ARC Advisory Group is conducting a survey to identify best practices in energy management in the process industries.
Mr. A. L. Naidu, Assistant Professor, GMR IT, Dept of Mech
The object of the research is to learn how the process industries address increasing energy costs, and what is being done in the area of energy management and energy efficiency.
The results of the study will reveal how companies are affected by high energy costs, how they are organized to tackle the problem, and what projects or initiatives are underway to improve energy efficiency. Click here to take the survey.

Energy Management in the Commerce
Engineering management is a specialized form of management that is concerned with the application of engineering principles to business practice.
Engineering management is a career that brings together the technological problem-solving savvy of engineering and the organizational, administrative, and planning abilities of management in order to oversee complex enterprises from conception to completion.
Mr. A. L. Naidu, Assistant Professor, GMR IT, Dept of Mech
Engineering management is considered to be a subdiscipline of industrial engineering/systems engineering. Successful engineering managers typically require training and experience in business and engineering.

Energy Management in the Government / Public
Government-related facilities are often the largest energy users in a country and the single most important customers for energy-using products and services.
Their energy savings potential is significant due to a relatively old building stock and--compared with private industry--a longer financial horizon for efficiency investments and typically lower requirements for return on investment.

Energy Efficiency Strategies for the Government Sector
Technology procurement activities to improve the range of available products on the market.
Informational programs (including efficiency guidelines for government contractors, and product energy labeling).
Adoption of efficiency standards for new buildings or equipment.
Training.Energy audits (including the development of
specialized software tools).Demonstration projects.
