EFFECT ON BAKING TIME ON DYE FIXATION(PAD-DRY CHEMICAL PAD

REACTIVE DYE REQUIREMENT FOR CONTINUOUS DYEING:-

1)Powder form or Liquid form dyes,2)Excellent solubility,3)Excellent bath stability,4)Low to medium substantivity, good

compatibility,5)Good diffusion & Leveling properties,6)Similar reactivity & rapid fixation.7)Un affected by fixation time various,8)High degree of fixation, 9)Excellent washing off properties, &10) Good fastness level.

Pad-dry Chemical Pad steam Process:-

1) Fabric is first padded in padder with dye,2) It is then passed through between two squeezing roller,3) Then fabric should be dry . Drying should be done slowly other wise precipitation of dye due to quick removal of water may take place leading to lower color value,4) After coming out from dryer fabric is padded in padder containing Alkali and Salt. Due to salt increased dye leveling and Alkali Increase activates dye fiber reaction,5) Fabric is then passed to the steamer where temperature of steam (Saturated steam) is 102^0C and time(60sec-120sec) . It containing 100% moisture,6) In last step fabric is washed because due to washing un fixed dye and other chemical remove which is on the surface of fabric.

Effect/ Result:-When we increased baking time the dye fixation increased up to certain level.Temperature is constant (102C) we just increased time(60-120 sec) .

If Baking time Greater than 120 sec then?

Shade Variation Occurs. Shade go to Yellowish side Because cotton is cellulose fiber if we increased time means cotton Fabric kept remain in Steam(102c) then cotton change its color .

Cotton Fabric Slightly lose its strength.
