What colour did cars used to be?
No traffic lights.
A traffic warden at the corners.
Blow a whistle.
Make gestures.
Women didn’t drive.
Peddlars sell milk, water, bread, etc.
Carts pulled by horses
No fridges. Ice- seller sell ice bars.
People travel by tram.
People travel by bus and trolley.
People send letters. Pillar boxes at the corners.
Very few people had telephones.
No public phones. People phone from
the telephone company.
An operator put you through by
connecting cables of different colours.
All phones be black.
Winters very cold. Grannies knit sweaters.
Milk come in glass bottles
No Coke. Children drink Refres Cola or
Granadina.
Men wear bow ties and cufflinks on the
sleeves’ cuffs.
Men comb his hair parted in the middle. They wear Glostora.
No washing machines.
Women wash clothes in a basin and use a washing
board.
No video games. Children/ play rango, marbles, hopscotch and ride/bikes.
Rain/ children / put paper ships on the puddles.
Windy/ children/ fly kites
People/ go to the cinema once a week.
People / saw three movies each time.
