Columbia Pictures
• Columbia Pictures have distributed a
variety of different horror movies
throughout the years. Famous titles
include The Grudge (2004), Thirteen
Ghosts (2001), and Angels and
Demons (2009).
Budget, style and content
• Columbia Pictures are known as one of the
‘Big Six’ American companies, so using this
company to be able to distribute a film
would allow a lot of people to be able to
hear about the film, through different
media platforms, such as social networking,
paper advertisements and radio.
Universal Pictures
• Universal Pictures is a subsidiary
owned by Comcast through
NBCUniversal. They have distributed
many horror and thriller type films,
such as Child’s Play 2, Wanted and
Ouija.
Budget, style and content
• Universal Pictures have distributed many
popular horror films, such as Wanted (2008),
which has a four star rating on IMDB. Because
they have distributed popular horror and thriller
films, this would help our film to be successful,
because fans of other popular films may also
see ours, due to similar themes.
Warp Films
• Warp Films are an independent film
company, based in Sheffield, with two other
sites in London, and Melbourne, Australia.
They have distributed some successful films,
including Dead Man’s Shoes, which achieved
a four star rating on IMBD, and Four Lions,
which was rated 3.5 stars on IMBD.
Budget, Style and Content
• Warp Films are an independent film company
based in Sheffield, which would be a good
match for our film, as our film was recorded in
the Barnsley area. They also release low budget
films, some of which have been successful,
which shows that despite being an independent
film company, they are still able to capture a
wide audience.
Screamtime Films
• Screamtime Films have been
distributing independent horror films
since the 1990s. The company was
founded by Todd Cook in 1990.
