The title sequences are the television equivalent of the illustration on a book cover. This is the sequence at the beginning of the show or film(but generally after the teaser)

Purposes Usually in television, It usually serves to let viewers know what shows they are watching. Although they don’t have to include any actual credits, the do however always display the title of the programme, usually in the form of a series logo ( except in rare cases such as Batman: The animated series which never displays the title ).

A title sequence is the method by which cinematic films and television programs present their title, key production and cast members, or both, using conceptual and original visuals and sound. For instance- the Universal studios logo or the Warner brothers logo.This is not to be confused with an opening title sequence.

Like any media text, film titles have conventions This is the typical format, content techniques and style used across the various ranges of film. There are visual and audible clues that tell you what you are watching is a title sequence e.g. : credits, the name of production companies, The movie title, the top billing actors etc.

-Diegetic and non-diegetic sounds to introduce the film institution or the film-visuals and movement intruding the characters -dialogue-sound effects-setting
