• Sustainability is the endurance of systems and processes. • Things that can continue into the future and keep going on forever.• It keeps the planet doing what it is designed to do – fresh air, water, food

and a high quality of life to be ensured into the future. • Healthy wetlands and forests are examples of sustainable systems.

• Sustainable Design is important to incorporate into our designs for our Community, Environmental and Information Centre as we want the three designs to be strong designs and have the ability to live long and still be healthy. The designs need to reach all the requirements so that our buildings can be safe and successful for the environment and community.

How have my group included Sustainable design?

• In our designs we have incorporated solar panels onto the roof which means that we are using the energy from the sun to generate the electricity we are provided with.

SOLUTION 1 – SOLAR PANELS

• In the Design we have incorporated water Tanks which means we are using natural recourses to provide us with water, and it is also recycling which means we are not wasting any water.

SOLUTION 2 – WATER TANKS

• All around the grass area and inside the centre we have included recycling bins as we believe it will benefit the whole community in the way of recycling and not polluting. As there are lots of bins there will hopefully not be citizens who will leave their rubbish lying around and when they do chuck it in the bin it will then be of good use to be recycled.
