Market Opportunities• Kyle’s position along the booming I-35 corridor, rapid growth
and its close proximity to downtown Austin offers a strategic location to both residents and businesses.
• Film festivals stimulate tourism. In a three-year study, researchers found that the key reasons cited by residents for loving their cities were entertainment and social offerings, how welcoming the city is and its aesthetics — in other words, the arts and culture.
• The Kyle community has to leave its city to experience an opening of a film or festival experience. Festivus de Cinema will keep its residents home and turn the City of Kyle into a destination.
Long-Term Outlook: Why Kyle?
• Within an extremely short period of time, Kyle has seen massive growth, investment and commitment from commercial businesses and developers.
• The City of Kyle is poised to be the largest city in Hays County. Our population multiplied 6 times over since the 2000 census from 5,000 citizens to just over 30,000. Several factors prove that the area is very progressive including transportation, utility and water plans, access and construction. The City of Kyle is currently undergoing major highway and infrastructure improvements.
• Festivus de Cinema’s potential growth will coincide with the development of the city and fill a void for the artistic expression of film.
