• Begin the sample portfolio preparation
• Remember today
• What RPL is – when recognition is given for what you already know
prior to starting on a programme or module
• That there is a process whereby all types of learning can be used to present for credits against a course programme
• Our task with this module is to understand what RPL is so we can
• Develop a sample portfolio as part of its assessment
Reminder what RPL is Bringing learning gained in life back to academia to be recognised formally now against courses on the national framework
The ability to conduct
In practice this means documenting your learning and presenting what is relevant for assessment.
On assessment your learning is compared with a reference point on the framework.
• Framework has programme outcomes describing knowledge, skills and competence at each level
• Programmes on framework must comply with this• Modules within each programme have learning
outcomes - this identifies key learning
Programme outcomes for each level
Modules have learning outcomes
See the Framework as a scaffold
