VVTA Riders Alert: Victor Valley College Ram Pass Pilot Program Has Expired Awaiting ASB Action

Embed Size (px)

DESCRIPTION

VVTA’s efforts to establish a permanent Victor Valley College RAM PASS program have stalled. As a result, ASB RAM PASS cards are no longer accepted as fare payment on VVTA buses. Regular VVTA Student fares will apply, until further notice. VVTA worked closely with students and partners to develop a sustainable program, which would provide all registered students a low cost and environmentally-conscious transportation option. A majority (67%) of students voting in the May 2014 special election supported the $6 per student transportation fee to be paid each semester. The transportation fee however has not yet been brought forward by ASB to the College Board of Trustee’s for adoption. As such, the pilot program is expiring and VVTA can no longer honor the RAM PASS without a current agreement. VVTA hopes a new agreement can be approved by the Board of Trustee’s to allow the program to resume.
